By taking the lead, these governments are encouraging companies to launch their own ambitious programs that can use edge computing to offer agile compute and storage solutions. Additional digitization efforts are being initiated by healthcare, education, and other key sectors to automate services to reduce costs and improve services.
Data sovereignty requirements are becoming more common as governments improve the protection of data that is important to national security. Public cloud providers in the region can’t always guarantee that data will be stored within a country’s borders, but edge cloud solutions with data storage as part of the server are putting data geofencing under the control of IT staff.
