Across the Middle East and Africa (MEA), companies and government agencies are embracing edge cloud to help with application modernization, virtualization, private cloud, data sovereignty, and wider enterprise digitalization initiatives.
To date, the region has largely lacked comprehensive edge cloud solutions that offer the necessary flexibility, remote management capabilities, and attractive total cost of ownership (TCO) for diverse organizations.
That's why Rakuten Symphony has partnered with IDEAL Software Design to bring the power, flexibility, and cost effectiveness of Rakuten Cloud solutions to enterprises through MEA, with an initial focus on the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
IDEAL Software Design, based in the UAE, helps industries transform through AI-integrated system designs that deliver operational efficiency.
As stated in Rakuten Symphony's press release announcing the partnership, “IDEAL’s expertise will help organizations in the region safely modernize their data infrastructure and applications. The collaboration will support enterprises in the region with opportunities in edge computing, enabling stateful applications for modern use cases across retail, manufacturing, utilities, education, financial services, and logistics.”
The timing of this collaboration is excellent as governments throughout the region are catalyzing cloud computing initiatives through large-scale infrastructure transformation projects.
These include Saudi Vision 2030 and UAE Centennial 2071, among others. By taking the lead, these governments are encouraging companies to launch their own ambitious programs that can use edge computing to offer agile compute and storage solutions. Additional digitization efforts are being initiated by healthcare, education, and other key sectors to automate services to reduce costs and improve services.
Data sovereignty requirements are becoming more common as governments improve the protection of data that is important to national security. Public cloud providers in the region can’t always guarantee that data will be stored within a country’s borders, but edge cloud solutions with data storage as part of the server are putting data geofencing under the control of IT staff.
As an added value distributor of Rakuten Cloud solutions, IDEAL Software is bringing advanced industry know-how and disruptive capabilities to these organizations to support their transformational journey. These solutions include the Kubernetes-based Rakuten Cloud-Native Platform, Rakuten Cloud-Native Orchestrator, and Rakuten Cloud-Native Storage solutions.
“There are so many transformational projects in this region that need the orchestration and storage advantages of the Rakuten Cloud platform. The solution offers better flexibility, automation and TCO than the competing technology that is currently available to our clients,” said Ivor Rankin, General Manager, IDEAL Software Design. “We’ve seen how other enterprise customers have used this technology very successfully. and are excited to bring the same results to our customers.”
IDEAL brings more than 25 years of technology expertise, helping organizations with enterprise AI and cybersecurity solutions. Add this experience to the capabilities of the Rakuten Cloud software, and we have the perfect resource for organizations that need to modernize their infrastructure and legacy systems.
The future is bright for MEA-based organizations embracing private cloud solutions. With IDEAL’s expert guidance and the advanced capabilities of Rakuten Cloud software, success is within reach. Connect with me if you’d like to learn more.
